World Premiere Performance: ODED Zehavi: Aurora featuring Mary Kay Fink, piccolo
March 7-9, 2024
Severance Hall
Program:
- Weber: Overture to Oberon
- Oded Zahavi: Aurora (TCO commission and world premiere performance)
- Brahms's 4th Symphony
The Cleveland Orchestra is renowned for its recordings and performances of the Brahms symphonies. Brahms’s Fourth and final symphony has been called “one of the supreme creative acts of the Romantic era” and enthralls listeners with tension between lyrical beauty, intense drama, and subdued melancholy. The piccolo gets a rare solo turn when the Orchestra’s principal piccolo, Mary Kay Fink, performs a dazzling work by Israeli composer Oded Zehavi commissioned especially for her.
This fantastic outreach program takes our flute music into senior living facilities and nursing homes every 6 to 8 weeks.
All GCFS members are welcome and encouraged to participate!
Bonnie Svetlik and Ann Droste are co-chairs.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to use music to brighten the day for those who can't get "out and about"
like we can. Please join us if you can!
We are slowly starting to resume this outreach program. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.
Pre-Covid performance at Breckenridge Village, feels like just yesterday!
