2:30 Group Workshop
Masterclass participants are encouraged to memorize at least a portion of their piece. Memorization of your entire piece is not required, but highly recommended in order to maximize the benefits of Greg’s exciting and innovative teaching style.
The GCFS sponsors a recorded competition for the opportunity
to perform in this annual fall masterclass. The deadline to apply is September 22, 2017.

This annual concert showcases works of Northeast Ohio composers and their compositions performed by members of the GCFS Board. Works include flute solos, flute choir, and chamber ensembles featuring the flute.

Traditionally a members-only recital, this year we wanted to open up the exclusive "Just Us" and invite more people to the party!
We would like your flute choir to join us this year to help put on a FLUTE CHOIR SHOWCASE.
Each choir will play for about 10 minutes. We will end the afternoon's event with a large, grand-scale performance with all choirs participating together. We have enlisted the help of the wonderful George Pope to conduct the large flute choir.

This one-day event for high school and middle school students includes a warm-up session, intermediate and performing flute choir, masterclass, a final concert, time to browse with local vendors, and an opportunity to play alto and bass flutes.
CLAUDIA ANDERSON is known for her originality and brilliance as a solo and chamber music performer across the U.S. She is a founding member of the innovative flute duo ZAWA! and the summer flute intensive Passion Flute: Foundations for Creative Perfoming (with Angeleita Floyd, Jill Felber, and Nicole Molumby). Currently principal flute with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, a guest artist and clinician at many colleges and music series around the country, and on the faculty of Grinnell College, Anderson serves also as flute faculty and Wind Area Head of the Young Artist Seminar at Rocky Ridge Music Center.
